pickAxe is the story of Cascadia Free State, the year-long blockade stopping salvage logging in an arson-burned spotted owl sanctuary called Warner Creek. The blockade attracted forest activists from across the Cascadia bioregion and captured the imagination of the nation for its audacity, tenacity, and ingenuity in resisting lawless logging.
Co-Director Tim Lewis will introduce this longer, wilder, funnier version with never-before-seen action scenes. pickAxe kicks off 3 days of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of Warner Creek’s victory.
