South Willamette PBA is hosting a Prescribed Fire Field Workshop at Native Oaks Ridge

Join the landowners, neighbors, and South Willamette PBA coordinators here west of Junction City for an evening walk to view the 1- and 2-acre burn units in meadow habitats. You’ll have the opportunity to share food and make connections in advance of the burn. The goals of this burn are two-fold, to improve the meadow habitats and begin again the practice of regular burning to reduce wildfire risk near structures and rural infrastructure in the wildland urban interface. We’ll talk about what’s planned and how the community can be involved.

South Willamette PBA will be providing soup and salad. Bring a side to share. For the walk, be prepared for tall grass and level ground. Let us know if you would like support on the walk. All ages (with supervision) are welcome. The site is southwest of Junction City off of Hall Road.
